Our Educational Bonding Program with Primates activity is designed to create a conscious and respectful encounter with monkeys who, due to their past experiences (as pets or born into human care), are accustomed to human contact. Their participation is voluntary, never forced, and is part of a supervised management and welfare program.
-
Here, visitors observe and connect with the animals in a respectful and natural way, without forced interaction. This approach helps raise awareness about the importance of caring for wildlife, both native and exotic, and discourages the acquisition of wild animals as pets. The program is officially approved by the relevant environmental authorities.
-
We collaborate closely with the Federal Attorney’s Office for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA), which plays a fundamental role in our work. Many of the animals now living at the Sanctuary were rescued by PROFEPA and entrusted to our long-term care.
-
The release of wildlife is a process regulated by the General Wildlife Law. Many rescued animals cannot be released due to irreversible damage or because they were raised in captivity and lack the skills to survive. Releasing them in these conditions would endanger their lives, so caring for them at the Sanctuary is the most responsible option.
-
The entrance fee directly contributes to the food, medical care, and specialized attention of the rescued animals. Thanks to this support, we can continue our work rescuing, rehabilitating, and maintaining the Sanctuary, guaranteeing a safe and dignified space for each animal.
